Audience Development Initiative

The Memphis cultural community came together in 2006 to embark on an Audience Development Initiative (ADI), led by ArtsMemphis and funded by the Assisi Foundation, with the primary goal to broaden, deepen and diversify arts engagement. The initiative started with comprehensive geodemograpic research on current cultural engagement and opportunities for expanding.

The Audience Development Initiative was largely funded by generous support from the Assisi Foundation of Memphis. Additionally funds were contributed by the Jeniam Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Tennessee Arts Commission and The Community Foundation of Memphis.
